PAINT

I GOT TO PAINT! Not what was in my head, BUT I poured paint non the less!
I have a certain painting I have in my head and I need to try. BUT it was a bit hard today as ALL my paints are now on the back porch and my canvases are in the garage. I at least got to take some paint out there and pour. SO i'm a happy girl tonight. OH how I've missed paining. Can't wait until my days off now. WHOOP.

Dark Day

It's only Tuesday! And a dark one at that. I hear that a storm is brewing. Storm away I say. Bring on the snow! And not just a dusting, BUT several feet of it. So much snow that it makes up for the lack of it we've had this winter. And if not down here in the Basin, up in our mountains. It's a typical dark grey day... actually looks like rain. But so far, not a peek of sunshine. Maybe before the days end.
Today I have hopes of actually getting to paint! Yes, paint. Larry and I have worked in the garage to clean up the mess the heater fire caused. And I'm so over due to paint. I think that has been a major issue with me mood(s) lately!
I'm also back to trying to read more. I have no set "theme" of books I like. I try to stay away for romance. A long time ago, YEARS even decades now, I was reading romance books. And I actually found myself resenting Larry. "Why wasn't he like those men in the books?" WOO me. I caused issues for myself. There is a reason women write like that. Read those books. It's to escape reality. Yes, i'm sure somewhere out there men are like what are in those books. BUT in everyday life... no. SO instead I became more thankful to the love and romance I HAVE vs waiting for the fantasy man to bloom out of an already AMAZING man. ok... enough on that... but I love fantasy, fairy, dragons, adventure. Even a good biography, self help, etc.. again, ALL OVER the place. Maybe I should change my blog name to "Rhonda ALL OVER THE PLACE".
Thank you to who have stopped by to check out my blog. I was too tired last night after work to post. Plus, a headache which I NEVER have. And it was a doozy. But was good to go before bed.
I have hopes to maybe write about Sir Eldrin Ivy before bed tonight. Tomorrow is my "long day" But have lots of plans for work, so i'm sure it will zip by.
Lets see.... any other "news" to share... not really.... not right now... but maybe later IF I do get to paint! Whoop. You will see a difference in my writing i'm sure.
toodles for now.

OUR GOVERNMENT!

Ok, i'm not one to write or post or even talk much about politics. BUT once again our government is "shut down". I have two boys serving in the Air Force and many other loved ones serving as well. NOT just Air Force. And tomorrow, they are having to go to "work" with out pay! Showing up to still, fly, train, defend etc. In hopes that this will come to a quick resolution. It's not like they WON'T get paid, but it makes all very unsettled in an already unsettled world. It brings worry about house pmts. utilities etc.. Democrat or Republican.... I don't give a rats ass who represents you... but I DO know it was Democrats that are the cause right now of this "shut down"! Would Congress, Senate, or anyone else show up and do their job they were hired/voted in to do KNOWING they are not going to get paid for said job until.... well, until someone who DOES get paid and quite nicely I might add decides to vote for it??!!! Even our POTS(President of the United States) opted for NO PAY for his job as President. BUT i'm sure he will be the 1st and LAST to do that. Again, this is new territory for me. I do not usually put my political views out there. I will however have great convos with my neighbor Paul and even my boys about current events. My thing is most people want to fight about politics. I will NOT fight about it. It's as simple as you have YOUR view/opinion, I have MINE. BUT sadly it gets nasty most of the time. That's how wars are started. NO THANK YOU. But our government is broken. Has been for all too long. And will continue to be that way for some time. Look at society as a whole. Scary, sad and discouraging really. There are some good still in the world. BUT we NEED more. Not just a few. Please, what ever your belief is.... send a prayer, light a candle, burn some sage, rub the Buddha's belly, kick a cow (yes, I know someone who USED to to this when she was upset)(I don't encourage it) whatever works for YOU... send it out tonight in hopes that this situation gets resolved sooner vs later. It has that snowball effect. Military, government agency's don't get paid, that said money doesn't come into the economy, businesses cut hours due to slow business, less pay for those employee's, less money to put into economy.... you get this picture. Anyway, not something I really had planned on blogging about tonight. But it's kind of consumed me today with worry for so many.

On a brighter note.....
Larry and I worked out in the garage on the "studio" part where I USED to paint. Slowly TRYING to get it cleaned up and done so I can start painting again. I have a couple of paintings in my soul that still need to come out. Hoping in the next couple of weeks for be able to get back to it. I actually reached out to a couple local businesses to hang some of my paintings in their shops. One said yes... still waiting on a high profile place to get back to me. Sure would be great to have my paintings out there and even get a little compensation for it too. BUT I still love doing what I do. Pay is just bonus!
On that note... i'll bid you all a good night and well wishes for a good week ahead.

Excited!!

Today was a good day. On the cold side... but MOSTLY sunny! So off for a short drive and mini hike. We ended up heading South and down by Tule Lake Cal. and the Lava Beds. 5 eagles, too many hawks to count, 1 coyote, a nice large heard of deer (approx. 20). Even got to witness two bucks spar. It was great. I plan on posting pics and video on here once I learn how. So in the meantime, you'll just have to imagine it. The sky was a beautiful blue and was somewhat covered in billowy white clouds with some light gray and then some VERY dark gray clouds. Great contrast in an even greater view of the miles of view we had. Yellows of winter fields dormant for the season, dark soil views of plowed and ready to plant fields, and even a beautiful, even out of place green field.
I am a bit sad at all the migratory birds I saw today. So many already heading back North. So I KNOW for the most part Winter is over. Lots of snow geese, Canadian geese, snow swans etc. Way to early to see them for me.
Came home and did some chores and then just relaxed with Larry in the living room.
I know not very exciting to read this, but I want/need to try and write something almost daily. I want this blog to work and thrive. Please leave comments in the comment section so I know you've stopped by.
Anyways, I'm very EXCITED for this blog and the journey you'll be able to take with me.
OK, Let me know if pics show up.... not sure if video will or not. The video is of the bucks sparring. will go ahead and upload that one to FB. (https://www.facebook.com/rhonda.hagen) click the link to see video's of today's eagles, sparring bucks and coyote.

Welcome! Grab a cup or tea (or whatever your drink of choice is) and make sure to come back from time to time to see what I'm up to. I may be writing about Sir Eldrin Ivy or sharing my latest craft project... maybe even a painting, or just ranting... you'll have to take your chances when you enter my room. But when you do, make yourself comfy. I want everyone to feel welcome here. I'm excited to FINALLY get my blog started. Yes, there is Facebook, but honestly...it just hasn't felt "right" to me for some time. So here... one has to really want to come here to "visit" not just scroll... one has to make an effort... so thank you for taking the time and making the effort to stop by. This will be work in progress for me for a while. So please, bear with me as I start this journey of my blog.
